Fall outlook: rainbows move shallow as it cools; try dough bait or worms near points, spoons, spinners, or trolled crankbaits and pop gear. Browns, lake trout and cutthroat hit flies, crankbaits, jigs and spoons along rocky shores. Any lake trout shorter than 22 inches goes back; daily you may keep four trout and kokanee combined, including one lake trout above 22.
Statewide, kokanee must be released from Sept. 10 to Nov. 30. Above the reservoir, both forks of the river's South Fork are closed from Aug. 15 until 6 a.m. on September's final Saturday.
